Warehouse Operatives
To accurately pick and pack all orders received in a highly time-effective and quality-focused manner and ensure same day dispatch.
Responsible to the Warehouse Supervisors & Managers, your main responsibilities will be:
Proactive collection of orders passed to Warehouse from the Sales Office
Accurate picking of orders
Careful and quality packing of orders in appropriately sized packaging and with appropriate protective packing
Packing in a cost-effective manner
Re-stocking shelves following deliveries with direction from either Supervisors or the Warehouse Manager
Liaising with the Sales office and Supervisors regarding queries
Raising problems and concerns with a Warehouse Supervisor or Manager
Reporting any potential problems, quality problems with products or health and safety matters immediately to a Supervisor or Manager
Dealing with returns following direction from the Warehouse Manager
Take corrective action when required directly in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager
Liaise with all other departments in a polite and professional manner
Ensuring all operational procedures are complied with and actively assisting with improvements to systems and procedures
Undertake checks on equipment such as trolleys, forklift, ramp etc. as directed or required before use as per training
Ensure that equipment and goods are checked in and out and any faults and shortages are reported
Accurate production of relevant paperwork and labels
Picking with minimal error levels which are monitored monthly
Hold responsibility for keeping the warehouse clean and tidy, ensuring aisles are free from empty packaging and rubbish and monitoring this during every day
Placing all empty packaging and rubbish in the relevant bins as it is seen
Liaison with colleagues in the Cylinder Workshop to assist where necessary or required.
React to orders on screen, pick and pack proactively
Undertake training related to the role as required
The post holder is responsible, as far as is reasonably practicable, for his/her own health and safety and the safety and welfare of other people in the course of his/her work and is expected to take the appropriate action to ensure this.
Any other duties as reasonably requested from time to time which fall within the post holder's capabilities either within or outside of the Warehouse
